BASCA exists to support and protect the artistic, professional, commercial and copyright interests of songwriters, lyricists and composers of all genres of music and to celebrate and encourage excellence in British music writing.

BASCA campaigns as a leading force in the domestic, European and international political arenas. It celebrates excellence through world-class award ceremonies - the Ivor Novello Awards, the British Composer Awards and the Gold Badge Awards.

BASCA informs its members in a constantly changing environment through its publications, website and seminars, and fosters a sense of community amongst British songwriters, lyricists and composers.
